Coolest Fantasy Asset on Every NFL Team

Short intro because I have to type out 32 NFL teams below -- today's blog is picking one guy for each NFL Team that I think would be the coolest to have on your fantasy team. Not necessarily just "who scores the most points on this fantasy team" -- though that's the case for many -- but the guy who's the most fun to watch, and is always capable of putting up a monster performance. Some of these choices may have had rough starts (really rough in some cases), but their outlook is trending way up -- some choices have been great all season long, just depends on the team. Without further ado,
AFC East
Buffalo Bills - James Cook
Josh Allen may seem like the top choice -- but he's shockingly just QB10 in total points through 7 weeks (granted, had a bye week). James Cook is the most interesting asset thus far to me -- considering he was a 4th round pick in most drafts, had a dominant 4-week stretch to start the year, and the Bills commitment to the run game. When you watch him, he reminds you of Leveon Bell in his patience and start-stop ability.
Miami Dolphins - Devon Achane
Quite literally 1 of 2 assets worth rostering alongside Jaylen Waddle (considering the Tyreek injury) -- but Achane's been terrific despite being on one of the worst teams in the NFL. RB5 on the year, 2nd in receptions (CMC is a freak), and slipped in many drafts. The downside is you're constantly worried about him getting hurt if he's on your team -- but you also know he can break off a 50+ yard TD at any moment.
New England Patriots - Drake Maye
The only other option that even came to mind was their defense -- but the clear choice for the Pats is QB Drake Maye. He has taken a leap forward in his 2nd season, leading the Pats to a 5-2 record, and is QB4 on the year. Just one week under 16 points, 4 games of 25+, and remarkable efficiency. Hasn't been a great year to wait on a QB in your draft, but if you got Maye or Dak, you're feeling pretty good about your situation.
New York Jets - Garrett Wilson, I guess
I looked long and hard at this Jets team, and there's genuinely only one option you can even make an argument for. Justin Fields had a couple exciting weeks at QB, but he's had 3 weeks under 5 points and is on the verge of getting benched. Breece Hall should be a good asset -- but he hasn't scored a single TD this year. So despite him missing last week, Garrett Wilson is the only choice as a guy who makes crazy catches routinely and has cleared 17 half-ppr points 3/7 weeks.
AFC North
Baltimore Ravens - Lamar Jackson
WOOF. The Ravens are supposed to be a haven of fantasy-friendly players, but this year’s been ugly. My friend Mike would tell you this spot belongs to Keaton Mitchell or Isaiah Likely, who he stashes on his fantasy team's bench, but I disagree. Henry's been disappointing at his ADP, Zay Flowers is as volatile as they come, so I'm going with Lamar, even though he's missed 2 weeks. Ravens have a horrible record, he scored 30+ his first 3 games, and you feel like he can win you a week when he's starting.
Cleveland Browns - Quinshon Judkins
There are 2 players that drew consideration for the Browns -- one of which was Harold Fannin Jr., who hasn't been a valuable fantasy player yet, but is a fun guy to watch because they move him all over the field. But the only real option is Quinshon Judkins, who leads the team in fantasy points by 40 despite missing Week 1. He totes the rock as a bell-cow, has 5 rushing TD's, and has been the lone consistent bright spot for this team offensively.
Cincinnati Bengals - Jamarr Chase
The Joe Burrow injury has put a damper on the entire Bengals roster -- especially Tee Higgins and Chase Brown, who have looked like busts at their preseason ADPs. Jamarr Chase did too, but since Joe Flacco's arrival, he's received an astounding 35 targets in TWO games with 2 TD's. He's vaulted himself back to overall WR1 conversations and is right back to being Fantasy Football's most valuable asset — if my WR1 was getting 23 targets in a game, I’d die happy.
Pittsburgh Steelers - Jaylen Warren
This one's a bit of a toss-up -- I wouldn't argue taking DK Metcalf here -- but to me, Warren's been a slightly more exciting addition for Pittsburgh's fantasy offense. DK's got the 4 TD's, but Warren's been a more dynamic and touch-heavy player when he's on the field. He only has 1 TD on the year and is outscoring DK on a ppg basis -- and it's only a matter of time before those TD's increase.
AFC South
Houston Texans - Their Defense
In reality, there's one team in the AFC South that has players that remotely matter for fantasy purposes, but if I had to choose someone in Houston -- it'd actually be their defense. Stroud's been horrible, Nico Collins has been banged up and inconsistent, Woody Marks and Nick Chubb are stuck in an uninspiring timeshare, and Dalton Schultz is the epitome of boring. Their Defense is sneakily 4th overall in total points, and haven't scored under 5 once this season.
Indianapolis Colts - Jonathan Taylor / Tyler Warren / Daniel Jones
Since the other teams are so fucking boring, the Colts get 3 picks in this category. Starting with the Fantasy MVP, Jonathan Taylor is not only RB1 through, he's the #2 player in all of Fantasy and has TEN TD’s. The rookie TE Tyler Warren has stepped right into a full-time role seeing solid usage -- he's TE3 and has scored in 4 straight games. And Indiana Jones, Danny Dimes himself, has gone from QB-competition in August to QB5 in October -- 1 week under 16 points and four 24+ weeks.
Jacksonville Jaguars - Travis Hunter
The Jags have been a rollercoaster this year -- Brian Thomas Jr. has been greatly disappointing and might be injured, Trevor Lawrence hasn't improved as a QB since he was at Clemson. Travis Etienne was off to a scorching start, but has settled into a middling option with 3 straight weeks under 7.5 points. So despite a horribly slow start, I'm going with Travis Hunter, simply because he blew up in Week 7, is getting much higher usage, and is incredibly fun to root for.
Tennessee Titans - Joey Slye?
When I tell you there are ZERO valuable fantasy assets on this dumpster fire team, I truly mean ZERO. Their leading scorer is a fucking kicker -- who is K5 on the year granted -- but this team is downright horrendous. Tony Pollard -- disappointing. Calvin Ridley -- disgusting. Cam Ward -- makes me sick. If you have to start any Titan weekly, you're down bad.
AFC West
Denver Broncos - J.K Dobbins
Another toss-up team -- you can argue Bo Nix after he put up one of the craziest scoring outputs of the season against the Giants, but he had a slow start (and I'm salty I dropped him in a league). Many had high hopes for RJ Harvey, but he's lost touches due to the great season from JK Dobbins. Drafted later than his counterpart, Dobbins has been a home run on ROI from his ADP -- and Courtland Sutton is another fair pick, but is boring to me.
Kansas City Chiefs - Rashee Rice
The easy choice here would be to pick the #1 overall player in Fantasy this season, Pat Mahomes, who's having a resurgent season. But this is as much about rest-of-season outlook as performance to this point, and if you're a manager who waited out Rashee Rice's 6-game suspension, you're feeling really fucking good now that he's back. First game in well over a year and he snags 2 TD's. Gonna be a major factor in this air attack.
Las Vegas Raiders - Ashton Jeanty
The Raiders are a team that's been horrendous for fantasy-value considering Brock Bowers' nagging injuries and Geno Smith being addicted to throwing interceptions. And while he may not be living up to his 1st round ADP thus far, Ashton Jeanty is definitely the most exciting asset on this team. He's a Top 12 RB on the year and has shown the explosive ability to sneak into the Top 7-10 by year's end.
Los Angeles Chargers - Quentin Johnston / Keenan Allen
The highest drafted players on this Chargers team in drafts were Omarion Hampton and Ladd McConkey. Hampton pre-injury was really coming into his own, while McConkey is slowly finding his groove -- but both have been ADP disappointments for one reason or another. Whereas Quentin Johnston and Keenan Allen -- both near undrafted ADP's -- have been sensational. Right near each other in points, QJ has 5 TD's to Keenan's 4, both over 400+ yards. Honorable mention for Oronde Gadsden is he puts together a few more great games -- 164 yards and a TD last week and an athletic freak.
NFC East
Dallas Cowboys - Literally Everyone
It'd be easier to name which Cowboy assets aren't fun to have. George Pickens went nuclear during Lamb's absence and makes unreal catches, Jake Ferguson's a target hog and the overall TE1 right now, Javonte Williams has been a late-round revelation and has more points than Josh Jacobs, CD Lamb returned from injury to a 20+ point week, and Dak is QB3 and has 14 TD's in his last 4 games. Even their fucking kicker is electric -- Brandon Aubrey is the #1 Kicker and hits 70-yarders.
New York Giants - Cam Skattebo
Cam Skattebo -- the inspiration of today's blog, because if you have him in your League, he's probably your new favorite player. A white running back that runs like he eats a bowl of Legos every morning, this guy has taken a stranglehold of the NYG backfield, and he's made the team much more exciting to watch. And if you used a mid-late round pick on him, he's made your FF team much more exciting as well.
Philadelphia Eagles - Jalen Hurts
The Eagles have been uncharacteristically boring from a fantasy perspective, in large part to the disappointing Saquon season we've seen to this point. The passing game is up-and-down, coming off a big week vs Minnesota for Devonta Smith and AJ Brown -- but they've been down most of the year. Jalen Hurts is the model of consistency -- he's the QB2 and is the best bet for rushing TDs with the Tush Push. Maybe not as exciting as others, but consistency is cool to me.
Washington Commanders - Bill Croskey-Merritt
The Commanders have had really bad injury luck, namely to Jayden Daniels and Terry McLaurin, who were their biggest assets in 2024. Deebo Samuel has been a great value at his ADP, and while I have him in all 3 leagues, his nagging heel injury and feast-or-famine style can get annoying. So I'm going with Bill Croskey-Merritt, someone I don't have in any leagues, but wish I did. He's just very exciting to watch and seems like he can score a TD with every touch he gets.
NFC North
Chicago Bears - Rome Odunze
The Bears have been playing well on the real field as of late, and they've had some surprisingly good fantasy performers as well. DJ Moore and Colston Loveland certainly aren't -- but Deandre Swift, Caleb Williams, and Rome Odunze have all proven valuable. Rome is my pick because of the jump he's made this season from last — evolving into a true alpha #1 option for Caleb, even if Caleb's efficiency varies from game to game, affecting Rome's output.
Detroit Lions - Jahmyr Gibbs
This season there are 2 Lions that everyone who plays FF wishes they had on their team -- Jahmyr Gibbs, and Amon-Ra St. Brown. I didn't want to cheat again and pick multiple, and while ARSB consistently puts up numbies -- I have a vendetta against him and think he's a douche and boring. Jahmyr Gibbs is anything but boring -- he might be the best pure running back in the NFL, is lightning fast, and plays in one of the league's best offenses -- ELITE asset.
Green Bay Packers - Tucker Kraft
If you're going purely off of fantasy points, it's not even a competition and this would go to Josh Jacobs. My problem with Josh Jacobs is, he's elite and runs through faces, but is boring as fuck. Tucker Kraft is elite and runs through faces, but is incredibly exciting. He's honestly under-utilized for a team with the WR injuries GB has, and that is probably frustrating at times for FF owners, but every time I watch Kraft I just wish he was on my team.
Minnesota Vikings - Jordan Addison
The Vikes on paper seem like another layup of a choice -- how can it not be Justin Jefferson? Well, I won't argue with you if you think he is -- but he's had a pretty quiet season due to the QB changes and inconsistency. Jordan Addison missed the first 3 games on suspension, but since he returned, he's gone over 100 yards or scored a TD in all 3 games. He benefits from the best corners shadowing JJ, and he's making the most of the opportunities thus far.
NFC South
Atlanta Falcons - Bijan Robinson
This was a Top 5 easy choice on this list. Bijan may be the coolest player in the whole league to have on your FF team, let alone on the Falcons. His smooth, explosive running style is so fun to watch, he has unreal change-of-direction, changes speed like I've never seen, and has outrageous spin moves and hesitations. He's also been so dynamic catching the ball out of the backfield -- 2nd only to CMC in Rec Yards for RBs.
Carolina Panthers - Rico Dowdle
This one was another true toss-up, the other option being Tet McMillan. I love Tet and have a ton of fun rooting for him -- he looks like he's 7 feet tall out there, but his QB play has been very limiting. Rico Dowdle is a guy that came in firmly behind Chuba Hubbard in the pecking order, but after back-to-back games with 200+ total yards while Hubbard was hurt, has supplanted himself in a timeshare. He outperformed Chuba last game as well and may take full control of the backfield eventually.
New Orleans Saints - Yikes, Chris Olave
I wish the Saints utilized Taysom Hill more this year, because he's the perfect choice for this type of list. But as it currently stands, there's not much to get excited about in NOLA, and there's not a lot of enviable fantasy assets on the roster. Chris Olave is my choice after his breakout Week 7 with 2 TD's, finally paying off his massive target share which is 2nd in the entire NFL.
Tampa Bay Buccaneers - Emeka Egbuka
Baker Mayfield is the coolest player in the NFL period, and I thought long and hard about giving this spot to him. But I think it'd be unjust not to give some shine to his de facto #1 WR for much of this season due to Mike Evans/Chris Godwin injuries -- Emeka Egbuka. He announced himself immediately with 2 TD's in his first game, has 5 TD's and 500+ yards on the year, and has made a strong case for best WR in his rookie class.
NFC West
Arizona Cardinals - Trey McBride
If you're a Kyler Murray or Marvin Harrison Jr. drafter -- the Arizona Cardinals probably aren't your favorite team to watch. And the James Conner drafters that lost him early probably haven't paid attention to the Cards in weeks. But if you're a Trey McBride Drafter, you're pretty damn happy with how the year's going. McBride's TE2 on the season and has already doubled his TD total from 2024 with 4 through 7 games. He's just a beast of a man that makes plays all over the field.
Los Angeles Rams - Puka Nacua
Despite getting hurt in the 1st half of their Week 6 game AND missing their Week 7 game, Puka Nacua is still WR5 and #3 in the entire NFL in receiving yards. When he's on the field, there's very few players you'd rather have on your fantasy team than Puka. He's an absolute gamer that catches everything, is Stafford's safety net, and puts up ridiculous numbers. One of my Top-5 favorite players to watch in the NFL.
San Francisco 49ers - Christian McCaffrey
But my #1 favorite player to watch in the NFL -- and has been every year he's been healthy since his early days as a Carolina Panther -- is Christian McCaffrey. I mean this guy is fucking absurd. Not like there's many other options in San Fran -- injury galore to that roster on both sides of the ball -- but CMC is as cool of an asset as it gets. He'd be a WR1 if you take away his rushing numbers (3rd in catches in the NFL, 8th in yards, 3 Rec TDs) and he does everything for the 9er offense.
Seattle Seahawks - Jaxon Smith-Njigba
And finally, the last player on our list -- the Seattle Seahawk Standout Jaxon Smith-Njigba. JSN really broke out last year in his sophomore season, but after the departure of DK Metcalf, he's emerged as one of the league's best WRs. He's WR1 in all of Fantasy, #1 in receiving yards by nearly 200 yards, and 3rd in targets. His worst scoring output this year was 11 points and he's gone over 23 three straight weeks -- and considering the split backfield and lack of WR threats outside him in Seattle -- he's an easy choice.
If you made it this far, leave a like and let me know in the comments who your favorite player is on your fantasy team -- and let me know which guys you think I missed!
