It's November already, and in less than 2 months we'll be closing the book on 2025 and welcoming in 2026. This has been an up-and-down year for TV and Movies -- some exceptional stand-outs, and some disappointing flops -- but there was a lot of good to come out of 2025, and some potential bangers before the year ends. In December, we'll be doing a couple blogs ranking our Top 10 TV Shows and Top 10 Movies of 2025 -- but today, we're previewing what's still to come in November/December of this year before moving on to 2026.
Starting with Movies, then TV, in chronological order -- if you're only it for the TV, skip till you see the TV heading -- but I think the upcoming movies are more exciting than the TV slate. See the amount of stars (***) bookending the Heading for how highly-anticipated each show/film is for me.
( * not very excited, ** excited, *** - very excited )
Movies
**Bugonia - Oct. 31st **
Kicking things off for movies with one that's currently in theaters starring Emma Stone and Jesse Plemons. From Director Yorgos Lanthimos (Poor Things, Kinds of Kindness, The Favourite), this is about a powerful CEO (Stone) who's taken prisoner by 2 conspiracy-theorists (Plemons) convinced she's an alien wanting to take over Earth. Insane premise, insane reviews thus far.
*Frankenstein - Nov. 7th *
Missed opportunity not releasing this last week before Halloween if you ask me. But Guillermo Del Toro's newest film is his rendition of the Frankenstein story -- starring Oscar Isaac as the titular Doctor, Mia Goth, and Jacob Elordi as The Monster -- who by all accounts I've read so far, turns in a terrific performance.
*Predator: Badlands - Nov 7th *
I'm too much of a pussy for the Alien movies and have never delved into the Predator movies, but they've been on a roll review-wise, and it seems Badlands is following suit. Starring Elle Fanning as an unlikely ally to an Alien Hunter who embark on a journey to fight the ultimate adversary.
**Die My Love - Nov 7th **
A Thriller/dark comedy starring Jennifer Lawrence and Robert Pattinson is enough to intrigue me -- but if you need more selling -- it's about a writer and young mother (Lawrence) slowly slipping into postpartum psychosis, leaving her partner (Pattinson) worried and helpless.
*Nuremberg - Nov 7th *
As the Nuremberg Trials are beginning, a US army psychiatrist goes toe-to-toe with accused Nazi war criminal Hermann Goring. Hasn't been very much buzz about this film, which considering it's absolutely stacked cast may be a bad sign for a 2 1/2 hour period piece -- but Russell Crowe as Goring, Rami Malek, Michael Shannon, Leo Woodall, and John Slattery is quite the ensemble.
***The Running Man - Nov 14th ***
This is a Top 2 most-anticipated movie for me (shocker, it stars Glen Powell). Based on a Stephen King novel set in the "near-future," The Running Man is a top-rated TV show where contestants must survive 30 days while being hunted by professional assassins. Powell's character enlists in the show desperate for money to save his sick daughter, and quickly becomes a fan favorite.
Also stars Josh Brolin, Colman Domingo, Michael Cera, Daniel Ezra, and Emilia Jones. Directed by Edgar Wright -- this gives me Hunger Games vibes and I'm extremely excited to see it.
***Jay Kelly - Nov 14th ***
Another heavy-hitter for me -- from Director Noah Baumbach comes this "Heart-breaking comedy" starring George Clooney as a famous movie star (aka Clooney playing Clooney) and his manager played by Adam Sandler as they go through an unexpectedly profound journey in Europe. Also stars Billy Crudup (a Bean's Blog favorite), Laura Dern, Greta Gerwig, and Riley Keough.
The Sand-Man Oscar Buzz is already revamping after coming up empty for Uncut Gems.
** Now You See Me: Now You Don't - Nov 14th **
3 fucking bangers in a row -- I absolutely love the 1st Now You See Me movie, so the fact that they're back for a 3rd has me stoked (2nd is okay). If you haven't seen the OG, give it a watch 1st off -- but it's about a group of Magicians/Illusionists who drain the bank accounts of the corrupt and give to the audience.
Stars Jesse Eisenberg, Isla Fischer, Woody Harrelson, Dave Franco, Mark Ruffalo, Morgan Freeman from the OG -- introducing Dominic Sessa (The Holdovers) and Rosamund Pike as the new villain for the 3rd installment.
**Wicked: For Good - Nov 21st **
Returning just a year later after Wicked's smash success last November, Cynthia Erivo and Ariana Grande are back for the 2nd Wicked movie. I saw the one last year with Emily and actually thought it was a pretty solid movie -- I've heard the songs aren't as good in the 2nd, but I'm still moderately intrigued.
**Hamnet - Nov 27th **
This is a big-time Oscar buzz movie from film festivals. Have heard that it's a super sad movie and a period piece -- which aren't exactly my wheelhouse, but is being touted as a Best Picture Contender. It's about William and Agnes Shakespeare (Paul Mescal and Jessie Buckley) and the birth of their son -- and the tragedy that strikes the family and inspires William to write the timeless masterpiece "Hamlet."
Sounds like Buckley is a shoe-in for Best Actress from early returns -- definitely check it out if you're into Oscar contenders and gripping dramas. Directed by Chloe Zhao -- a star in film-making.
**Wake Up Dead Man: A Knives Out Mystery - Dec 12th **
If you're a fan of Rian Johnson's Knives Out Movies -- you're in luck, because #3 hits Netflix in December, and is being touted as one of the best of the series. Daniel Craig is back as Benoit Blanc, but there's a whole new cast of characters around him once again -- maybe the most star-studded one yet. Josh O'Connor, Kerry Washington, Jeremy Renner, Mila Kunis, Andrew Scott and Josh Brolin (Bean-favorites), Glenn Close, Jeffrey Wright, Thomas Haden Church, Cailee Spaeny. DAMN.
**Avatar: Fire and Ash - Dec 19th **
Speaking of 3rd entrants into popular franchises -- let's level up to arguably the most popular modern movie franchise from the brain of James Cameron in Avatar. This 3rd installment appears to be a darker narrative on Pandora, as Jake (Sam Worthington) and Neytiri's (Zoe Saldana) family encounters a new and dangerous Na'vi Tribe -- the Mangkwan Clan, known as the Ash People.
I've never been an Avatar-fanatic, but think both of the prior 2 movies are great and stunning thematic experiences -- I expect more of the same this time around.
***Marty Supreme - Dec 25th ***
And closing things out on my hands-down #1 most-anticipated movie left on the release schedule for 2025 -- Marty Supreme. White Boy of the Year Timothee Chalamet is back leading a film that has gained an inconceivable amount of hype since it's secret-screening in October, garnering praise for his performance and the movie itself being a contender for film of the year.
The movie is about Marty Mauser (played by Chalamet) in the 1950s pursuing his dream of becoming a world famous table tennis player. Doesn't sound like a smash hit movie premise, but with Josh Safdie directing and a supporting cast of fun and interesting choices like Gwyneth Paltrow, Kevin O'Leary (yes, Mr. Wonderful from Shark Tank), Penn Gillette (of Penn & Teller), Tyler the Creator, Fran Drescher -- stoked is an understatement.
Whether it's the word of mouth or my belief that Timmy Chalamet can do absolutely no wrong -- I may not be seated on Christmas Day, but I 100% will be Christmas Weekend for this banger.
TV Shows
*I Love LA (Nov. 2nd - HBO Max)*
From Rachel Sennott -- Comedian and Actress known for Shiva Baby, Bottoms, Bodies Bodies Bodies, Saturday Night -- has a new show she created on HBO Max this winter. The show stars her and Josh Hutcherson and is about a friend group that drifts apart but reconvenes years later in LA. Big Sennott fan -- not sure this show's my cup of tea -- but has a lot of hype.
*All's Fair (Nov. 4th - Hulu) *
A legal drama starring Kim Kardashian, Glenn Close, Sarah Paulson, Teyana Taylor, Niecy Nash and Namoi Watts. SHEESH first off. It's about an all-female law firm in LA and is created by Ryan Murphy of American Horror Story fame and the Monster series on Netflix. Not for me, but interested to hear reviews.
**All Her Fault (Nov. 6th - Peacock) **
A Peacock original starring Sarah Snook (Shiv in Succession), Michael Pena, Dakota Fanning, Jake Lacy, and Abby Elliott. The show is about a Mother who shows up to pick up her son from a playdate -- but the family's never heard of her or her son, launching an investigation to find the missing boy. Very intrigued by this show and the full season drops on Peacock Thursday.
***Pluribus (Nov. 7th - Apple TV+) ***
This is a weird one -- but it's a show created by Vince Gilligan (creator of Breaking Bad and Better Call Saul) so I have an obligation to tune in and see. It stars Rhea Seehorn (Kim Wexler in BCS) and the tagline is "The Most Miserable person on Earth must save the world from happiness." The trailers put my brain in a blender, I have no idea what to expect, but will be watching 100%.
*The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives: Season 3 (Nov 13th - Hulu) *
Not my type of show, but I know my girlfriend and many others are very excited. This show sounds like it's a batshit crazy reality show and the first 2 seasons were a phenomenon -- I'm sure Season 3 will be no different.
*The Beast in Me (Nov. 13th - Netflix) *
Hadn't heard about this one till starting blog research. Author Aggie Wiggs (Claire Danes of Homeland fame), grieving the loss of her son, finds new inspiration by unraveling the mystery behind her new neighbor Nile Jarvis (Matthew Rhys of The Americans fame) and his vanished wife. 2 heavy hitters of prestige TV in Danes and Rhys, also stars Brittany Snow and Jonathan Banks.
*Landman: Season 2 (Nov. 16th - Paramount+) *
I didn't watch Season 1, but odds are your Dad did and loved it. From the hottest TV creator in the business Taylor Sheridan, starring Billy Bob Thornton, Ali Larter, and Demi Moore.
*Stranger Things: Final Season (Nov. 26, Christmas, New Year's Eve - Netflix) *
Definitely the most anticipated show still to come in 2025 -- the final season of Stranger Things. I'm familiar with the show but haven't watched it all, but the final season is one of the biggest (and longest) TV Projects in recent memory. Part 1 releases on 11/16, Part 2 on Christmas, and the finale on NYE. Millie Bobby Brown, Joe Keery, David Harbour, Winona Ryder -- all the usual suspects return to star.
**Fallout: Season 2 (Dec. 17 - Amazon Prime) **
And finally, we'll close things out with One of Amazon Prime's crowning achievements in recent years, the success S1 of it's Fallout series. Starring Ella Purnell and Walton Goggins, Season 1 was a smash hit and Season 2 will be highly-anticipated. Based on the video game series that I did not play, but is beloved by many.
